Port tasting at Chloe's

My, my, what a treat. Delicous ports and delicious bites to rekindle my desire to go to Portugal.

Use wine glasses. Drink within a few weeks of opening. Tawnys are ready - store upright - will hold two months. If there is a driven cork store it laying down, if it is a "T" cork, it's ready to drink and will last a few days after opening.

We tasted a delicious Fonseca Siroco-White - served well chilled, on the rocks with a twist, and again mixed with tonic. Why waste a good port with adding tonic?

Fonseca Bin No. 27 was next - 200 year old oak, mahogony, cherry casks. Yummm. Room temp - sast course or desserts. (They have a nice visitors center, and you can picnic in the vineyard.)

Late Bottled Vintage Taylor Fladgate. Deep purple, jammy, serve with cheeses, nuts, intense desserts.

Quinta Da Roeda Vintage Croft.

DeLaForce Porto.

10 Year Aged Tawny Fonseca. Yummm. Great desserts. Chocolates were served. The woman on my left (I didn't know her) and the woman on my right each took a bite and moaned at the same time.

Taylor Fladgate 20 year Tawny. Nuts, caramel, coffee, and chocolate. More moaning.
